A Practical Vision for Communication, Engagement & Learning at the Digital Democracy Initative - CIVICUS
As part of my application for the Project Learning and Communications Officer position at CIVICUS under the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI), this webpage demonstrates tangible ideas and creative samples that reflect how I can contribute to amplifying the visibility, reach, and impact of DDI. These samples focus on creating an engaging Global Digital Knowledge Hub, enhancing CIVICUS’ multimedia content, and expanding multi-lingual communication capacities.
Global Digital Knowledge Hub: Branding, Web Presence & Communication Strategy
To position DDI’s Global Digital Knowledge Hub as a dynamic space where digital democracy actors can connect, learn, and collaborate globally, I propose a cohesive branding and communications approach that builds upon the existing DDI identity.
Logo Concept:
The logo concept draws inspiration from the current DDI logo but evolves by connecting the dots in a circular, flowing motion. This symbolizes the active and continuous exchange of knowledge, tools, and experiences among actors across regions—mirroring the Hub's role as an enabler of global digital cooperation.

Increased Video Content for Increased Visibility: DDI’s April 2025 Newsletter Promo
Leveraging video as a strategic medium to enhance the appeal and outreach of DDI's ongoing updates and initiatives. Here is a prototype promo video I created for the DDI April 2025 Newsletter—designed to inform, engage, and inspire action among stakeholders.
Strengthening Multi-Lingual Communications: Reaching Wider Audiences in English, French, and Spanish
To better reflect DDI’s global community, I propose multi-lingual social media content production and dissemination in French and Spanish. The below promo reel demonstrates how DDI’s updates can be localized and shared across French-speaking CIVICUS audiences to maximize inclusivity and relevance.
Introducing Arabic Language Outreach
As many of the activities of CIVICUS within the DDI reach underrepresented regions in the MENA region, pioneering Arabic as an additional language is an essential added value to the communication strategy of CIVICUS. Since Arabic is my native language and I have extensive experience in creating written and audio-visual materials in Arabic, I can greatly contribute on this front.
Below is a suggested Arabic adaptation of the CIVICUS homepage: a step toward opening access to digital democracy resources for Arabic-speaking communities and potential partners.
